Before You Arrive – Private Pilot

Make sure you have all your required endorsements. Example:

Please either print or write on a piece of paper the following information:

  • A list of all cross-countries you did with your instructor and, separately, the ones you did solo
  • Include the date, the distance between each airport, each airport you landed at, the total time of the flight and whether the flight was day or night
  • List of airports and date where you completed your 3 takeoffs and three landings to a full stop at an airport with an operating control tower
  • A list of the airports where you completed your night landings and which on
  • The dates of the last 3 hours you flew to prepare for the checkride
  • Ask DPE for DMS number when you get to the checkride
  • Separate piece of paper: ACS written codes

If you are bringing cash: write on an envelope:

  • Your name, FTN number, airport, month and year of test, phone number, amount, and organization (CAU/ ATP)

  • Make sure all endorsements are signed and pasted into your logbook.
  • Make sure your 90-day endorsement is still valid for solo flight.
  • Don’t forget foggles
  • Verify the same name is on your IACRA, government issued photo ID, written and pilot’s license
  • There is a $300 fee if any paperwork is incorrect or not present and we are unable to continue the checkride
  • Make sure PIC time is correct for both the aeronautical experience grid and under part II 2 a & b.
  • PIC time + dual received should equal total time
